It’s official our small closet makeover is complete, YAY!!! This makeover has helped our master closet feel bigger and definitely more organized. But what did this project cost us? Without further ado here is the total cost of our closet makeover.
The cost above was for all our supplies to build the system, move a light plus new light fixture, and build the drawers. How about I give you a breakdown of the supplies.
What does it cost to build a closet organizer?

THE SYSTEM:
- 3/4″ plywood = $69.96 (2 sheets)
- 1″x2″ wood boards = $18.21
- quarter round = $3
- rod holders = $14.94
- 1.25” wood dowels = $8.96
- 1” Kreg Jig course pan screws = $8.36 (2 boxes)
- spackling paste = $3.98
Total = $127.41
THE DRAWERS:
- 1/2″ plywood = $35.99
- 1/4″ plywood = $26.00
- 1/2″ MDF = $11.95
- 1/4″ MDF = $7.42
- 16″ drawer slides = $52
- screws for slides = $10.36
- knobs = $29.97
Total = $173.69
LIGHT:
- light cover plate = $3.37
- LED light = $24.97
Total = $28.34
