Hey there! I am Megan, the creator of TwoFeetFirst.

My passion is helping homeowners transform their outdated homes into something they can be proud of. I share do-it-yourself (DIY) projects to renovate your space in affordable efficient ways. Sometimes its building something out of wood, and other times, I’m showing you how NOT to make the mistakes I did! With each project, you’ll feel less overwhelmed and you’ll be ready to transform your home.

I want to show you that if I, an amateur do-it-yourselfer, can do this, so can you!!

My story of renovating and woodworking started in 2013 when we purchased our very first home.

Visit our home tour to see all the projects we have completed!

Since we moved in, and hundreds of projects later, I have learned a whole heck-of-a-lot about renovating, DIY projects, woodworking, using tools, organizing, decorating, planning a project, and many other skills that I picked up along the way.

When I started updating our home, I knew very little about renovation.

Growing up, my brothers were lucky enough to tag along with my dad as he built and renovated houses for a living. However, I missed out on these adventures.

Perhaps that drove my motivation as an adult.

Through my own DIY projects, I learned a lot about home renovation and woodworking simply by doing it myself. I did a lot of research, and I found that my projects went more smoothly when I’m organized and everything is well planned out.

The best part is that my dad has been a wonderful resource for my projects over the years.

And now, I happily share all my expertise with you. You’ll find that my tutorials are extremely detailed and easy to follow, with photos of all stages of the process.

One day, it’s my dream to take all of this knowledge and build a new house for our family.

MORE ABOUT ME

I’m married to my right-hand man, and he puts up with all my crazy. My days are spent chasing three tiny people that have way too much energy (I’m a stay-at-home mom), managing the everyday household, working on some DIY projects (probably too many at once), taking picture after picture of our projects, and learning more about this blogging thing.

You should know that I have a big weakness for any home store (The Home Depot) and I could spend hours in that store any day of the week.

I also have a little problem – whenever I walk into a home, I’m either thinking through all the things I would change OR when I seeing something I love, wishing I could replicate it in my house. I can’t turn off the DIY brain!

I decided to start TwoFeetFirst to share our home projects with our family. I also wanted to improve my writing (I was only communicating with babies during the day at that time). Please know that I’m not the greatest writer or speller, and sometimes I make up words. So excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes because I will make them often.

Follow along on Instagram for my latest projects, fun updates, and sneak peeks.

I’m glad you’ve found me and thanks for stopping by!
