Re-bricking around the Windows

This post came to be by an oops in our window project… As we were removing the tile from our windows, the brick under the mortar of the tile came out. Like I said oops!

Removing BrickThis means that I got to try my hand at re-bricking.

First, I scraped all the old mortar out from around the bricks that needed to be fixed.

Then I gathered my supplies:

– Mortar
– Hawk
– Margin Trowel
– Level
– And the old brick

SuppliesAfter mixing the mortar, I placed some on top of the brick that was still attached. Then placed the old brick on top of that. And pressed/added more mortar until the bricks were level.

Level BrickNext I placed mortar in-between the bricks. I then filled things in here and there until I had this.

Brick FixedIt took me about 10 minutes from start to finish to re-brick the window.

More excitement with the windows, we got the biggest window completed and let me tell you it was the hardest… Only one more to go!!!
