Our old home has lots of character but storage is something it is lacking. Maybe that’s because our house is small or times were different in the 1950’s… Either way, our home needs to have a better flow when it comes to closet organization. Does your home struggle with organization? Maybe you feel it’s because your closets are too small, there is no hope for them. Well, I want to share our master closet and the ideas we have to organize the small space.
This closet serves both Eric and I… Do you see any problems? Maybe it’s all the empty space on the floor? Or the stacks of clothes on the shelf? Or maybe we just have too many clothes (I think you could be right…)? I think one of the biggest problems is how the closet is organized.
THE SOLUTIONS
- ADD MORE RODS – I want to add more rods (3) to give us more hanging space. Something like this:

source: Build Basics - ADD ANOTHER SHELF – Our current closet (before) only has one wide shelf. Making it hard to get to anything in the back but also lots of wasted space above.
