This is a day that we have been waiting for, it has only taken a year and a half… Are you ready for it? We have blinds!!! Oh, it’s a happy day at the Taylor house. Are your ready for the before and after? Here is our living room after installing the window trim.

Now let’s take it back to when we first bought the house.

Living Room 2

And here is our living room today, no more sheets and brown… Plus our window is big, 105″, and the top piece is all one long piece. Our old blinds where three different pieces.

And today, after adding blinds.

The Blind Man blinds

After looking at many different options we decided to going with a local blind shop, The Blind Man. They even do FREE estimates, how sweet is that. There was a couple of reasons why we went with them:

1. Their blinds were only $70 more than the blinds found that the hardware store (Home Depot or Lowes or blinds.com), plus they are a better blind.
2. The blinds have a life time warranty…
3. They install them for you!
4. We would be helping out the local community.

After making our order, we only had to wait 1 week… And I could have been looking out the window all day waiting for them, even though they told me a time, I was just to excited. But guess what they surprised me and came 30 minutes early. They even walked two block in 100 degree weather to get to my house (our road was closed for road work but I did call to tell them and told them a closer place to park but they did not get that message, sorry guys). They were in and out of my house within 40 minutes.

On a side note: they were telling me how much they hate putting blinds in houses that has plaster because the screws will not hold, and this is exactly why we framed our windows in with wood trim.

And I know you want to see the kitchen.

Kitchen Blinds 1

Then of course, our kitchen before installing the dishwasher and blinds. I think this is a big improvement. Now I just need to update the cabinets…

Don’t look to close because I still have not cut-in around this window…
