Updated Bathroom Towel Holder

Our bathroom has this really lovely towel holder and well it’s really not working for us. Why? Because it only holds 1 towel plus a hand towel. And we are not really loving the look of the towel rod. So we decided to change the rod to hooks and update the look.Update Towel Holder

First, I removed the old towel holder and of course only to find a dirty wall.

I then cut a 1″ x 4″ board to the same size as the old towel holder but you could change the size if you wanted. I primed and painted the board and drilled holes where the board will attach to the wall. Then I attached the board to the wall.

I did not want the screws showing for the finished look. So I made sure I drilled a slightly bigger hole so the screw could be covered with spackling paste. I applied two coats to get a smooth finished.

Then I lightly sanded the area and caulked around the board to give it a finished look. After I touched up the board and wall with paint.

The hooks that I purchased (from Hobby Lobby) did not come with screw. So I spray painted the screws that way they would match the hooks.

And now my bathroom has some updated bathroom hooks for cheap!
